While serving in the US Air Force 1963 to 1967, I spent 1 year on Iwo Jima AFB 1964 /65 . I was awarded the flag from the famous Marine Monument on Mt Suribachi for airman of the last quarter on my tour of duty. Picture is from the base commander awarding the flag to me
