VA offers more than 1,300 jobs at Detroit hiring fair
The Department of Veterans Affairs reports employers offered jobs to more than 1,300 veterans at last week’s job fair in Detroit.
The VA added more than 5,500 interviews were conducted and more than 8,000 veterans attended the three-day event at Cobo Center.
“Veterans make excellent employees, and they are exceptional leaders in any organization,” said secretary of veterans affairs Eric K. Shinseki. “America needs the skills, knowledge and attributes that Veterans bring to help rebuild our economy.”
The VA will now take its “Hiring Our Heroes” back on the road to Colorado Springs, Minneapolis, Houston, San Diego, San Antonio, Cincinnati, Chicago and Tampa, Fla.
